Dynapar encoder experts designed the HS35iQ encoder so that the phase direction is set in reverse direction of motion. Phasing should match the direction of rotating expected by your control device.

Why is the Temperature LED Red?

The Temperature Fault LED will turn red of the temperature of the device exceeds the warning temp or maximum operating temperature. In this situation, you should immediately stop the motor/encoder. Then, check the area for excessive heat and bring the ambient temperature down.

If the cable fault LED continues to stay red after some toubleshooting, check the connection of every encoder signal connection. Make sure all signal outputs are connected to a load. If you are
using single ended mode, also ensure the Output Type is set correctly on the Fault Monitoring tab.

The cable fault LED light will can be falsely tripped to red, even when the cable connection is verified to be correct, if the load impedance of the encoder is too high.

Why does the coupling slip LED trip during rapid speed changes?

When your HS35iQ encoder detects an acceleration outside of the normal range, the coupling slip fault LED with change to red. You can avoid this occurrence by reducing the acceleration/ deceleration of the motor. For support on a custom configuration file, contact Dynapar technical support.

Why is the LED indicator green during a known fault?

If faults are disabled, the HS35iQ with PulseIQ Technology will continue to show a green LED rather than red. To ensure faults are not disabled, check the Fault Monitoring tab. Faults should be enabled to be notified for specific faults.

Why won't PulseIQ Software open?

If the DLL file is missing, the PulseIQ Software will not be able to connect or open successfully. Ensure that you have Windows 8 or higher and Dtp-ToolBox.dll is placed in the same folder as the Service Tool .exe file.

If you experience trouble connecting your driver to PulseIQ Software, the driver may not be installed properly or the connection could be lose. Download and install the proper drivers for your OS at https://ftdichip.com/drivers/vcp-drivers/. Also, check all connections and ensure everything is plugged in properly.
