How Many Shaft Positions Exist on Absolute Encoders?

You can calculate the number of shaft positions on your encoder with the following equation: 2^xwhere X = the resolution of your absolute encoder in bits.

For example, an encoder with a resolution of 12 bits, follow the equation of 2¹², gives you a resolution 4,096 discernable positions on the shaft.
