Encoder Accuracy vs Resolution
A resolver is an electromagnetic transducer that produces an analog output signal. This type of transformer measures angle based on electromagnetic interaction between the primary winding (rotor) and secondary windings (stator). A resolver contains no onboard electronics and therefore is ideal for harsh environments.
In a housed resolver the rotor and stator are contained within a single housing , protected from contaminants. This design incorporates a bearing to the housing ideal for when direct motor shaft mounting options are not available.
