September 8th, 2014 - Dynapar announces the all-new RR25, a rotary speed sensor targeting agricultural applications in the Off-Highway Vehicle market. The patent-pending sensor utilizes proven Hall-IC technology to provide reliable service in the Ag industry's demanding environment where contaminants, corrosive chemicals, and high vibration are commonplace. Like all new Dynapar products, the new sensor is RoHS and CE compliant for global use
Revolutionary Design for Maximum UptimeAutomation equipment users involved in production will tell you downtime is unacceptable, and farmers are no exception. Sensors employed in precision farming equipment must operate in a variety of less-than-ideal conditions that can cause problems for lesser designs. Not so for the Dynapar RR25.
The new sensor starts with a ball bearing-less design and encapsulated electronics to produce a reliable signal in wet and dirty conditions. The housing material was chosen to be compatible with contaminants like fertilizer, diesel fuel, and hydraulic fluid, commonly present in the Ag environment. Few fasteners and limited component count make the design rugged, simple, and easier to produce, helping keep manufacturing costs down in a price-sensitive market.
Mounting the sensor is easy, through the use of a hub-shaft with clamping collar and anti-rotation tether. The compact design makes integration into existing machinery easy, and a choice of hub-shaft sizes is available. For those applications where the RR25 will replace a more traditional, shafted sensor, Dynapar offers a field-retrofit version with male shaft extension.
